Xbow Class II Corrector

The Xbow appliance, often called the Crossbow, is Dr. Duncan Higgins' Class II corrector, using Forsus springs with a Triple L lingual holding arch. Made to your Rx and shipped in 10 business days or faster.

Class II Correction

Xbow Class II Corrector

A thick wire from the spring mechanism secures to the upper band through the headgear tube, and Gurin locks just mesial of the lower first bicuspids limit how far the rods slide. A lower labial arch bonded to the anterior teeth adds arch stability. We don't supply the Forsus mechanism, so order the springs separately.

When it’s the right call.

Use it when
Narrow maxilla and Class II bite in one growing patient
Cases starting once the upper first premolars erupt
Patients who won't reliably wear Class II elastics
Posterior crossbite alongside a Class II molar relationship
Consider another appliance when
The maxilla is wide enough and only the bite needs correcting See Specialty Miniscope® Herbst
You prefer Class II correction without springs or telescopes See MARA
Compliance is reliable and a removable appliance suits the case See The Bionator

Options you can prescribe.

Still deciding which Class II corrector?

Fixed or removable, telescoping or not, and how much you want to depend on the patient. Those three choices narrow most Class II cases to one appliance.
