Lower Fixed

The Lower Fixed is a lower expander with a 12 mm reduced-body screw soldered to first molar bands, for lower arch development without a removable plate.

Expansion

Lower Fixed

A .059 lingual support wire adds support and durability, and rests are generally soldered from the screw to the first bicuspids. Lower expansion is dentoalveolar arch development and uprighting, since there's no suture to split. Use it to match the lower arch to an expanded upper or relieve lower crowding.

Suture maturity, tooth-borne or tissue-borne, banded or bonded, and whether the patient's parents can manage screw turns. Those narrow the choice quickly.
