DeLuke Contoured Expander

The DeLuke expander is a bonded rapid palatal expander for mixed or permanent dentition, with a lingual-only wire framework and a 3 mm acrylic occlusal surface.

Expansion

DeLuke Contoured Expander

The 3 mm pressure-formed acrylic flexes off easily at the end of treatment, and a 12 mm screw is typical. Placement uses a non-etch cementation technique with no isolation, so you can seat it in a moist field in about 3 minutes. The flexible caps lift off the buccal surfaces at removal.

You want palatal acrylic to share the expansion load See Haas
Short anchor teeth need full crown coverage for retention See Crowned Expander
The patient's midpalatal suture has matured See MARPE (4, 6 and 8 Eyelet)

Still deciding which expander?

Suture maturity, tooth-borne or tissue-borne, banded or bonded, and whether the patient's parents can manage screw turns. Those narrow the choice quickly.
