Upper Nance Appliance

A stabilizing wire runs across the palate to the first bicuspid area and is soldered to bands on the first molars. The acrylic button is processed over the wire in front of the vault, so the palate takes the load. That keeps the arch stable and the molars in place during the transition.

The job decides most of it: holding space, holding molar position or breaking a habit. After that, it's how much hardware the palate can take.
