Our story.
The old name told you what was in the box. Specialty Appliances. It was the right name on 1 June 1981, in a basement in Jackson, Michigan, where a small group of technicians started making appliances by hand, one doctor at a time.
Doctors stopped using the long name a long time ago. When you call the lab or recommend us to a colleague, you say Specialty. So we didn’t shorten the name. We’re going by the one you gave us.
Nothing you depend on is changing. Same building in Cumming, same benches, same people. Our purpose hasn’t moved: create orthodontic solutions and products that inspire a lifetime of confidence.
We’ve come a long way.
Scott Huge founds Specialty on 1 June, in a basement in Jackson, Michigan.
